Hotel D. Luis - Coimbra

The views overlooking Coimbra are fantastic, but the noise from nearby guests made it hard to sleep.

Throughout our thoroughly enjoyable stay, the service was exceptional with shuttle to the town and free Wi-Fi. In fact, there was a free parking on site. The location in a very nice looking area was very pretty and quiet and there were a market and a convenience shop nearby. A garden and a forest were near the hotel...

The views from the room were AMAZING! 🏞️ The shower was great, and breakfast options were delish. Sadly, the room had a slight smoky smell that took a bit to clear out.

private parking right outside the door. great view of coimbra. hotel is located! as others have mentioned, outside of coimbra on the main road, on foot it becomes a bit difficult. as you have to walk along the main road without a sidewalk, in the end it is only 200 - 300 m. if you don't want that! you can also take a taxi into the city, costs 5-6€;

Big clean rooms. Polite staff. And from the large breakfast room a great panoramic view over the city.

The whole building is already a bit outdated. And if you are not travelling by car, it is still about 1-1.5 km from the centre. However, a bus shuttle (free of charge) is offered a few times a day from the hotel.

The views overlooking the city are magnificent. The buffet breakfast features a decent variety, ensuring there's something for everyone to start the day off well.

The hotel's location is a bit isolated, requiring a taxi to reach city attractions, which might not suit everyone. Several issues like dated room decor and insufficient soundproofing, particularly with noise disturbances from neighboring rooms. Cleaning inconsistencies in the bathrooms were a downside and the air conditioning was noisy, impacting relaxation. Parking is available, but navigating to the location can feel a bit confusing due to unclear directions.

Very clean, well maintained and good hotel. We were just passing through and only stayed one night. But it was all fine and neat. Breakfast was very good! Free parking spaces at the hotel. Nice view.

It's just outside of Coimbra and therefore not for someone who wants to get to the city on foot. But as we were passing through and needed a hotel with parking space, it was optimal for us. You can hear the traffic a little.

Great stay with minor noise issues

Check-in was super easy, and the room was really spacious with a great shower. The bar's food was top notch! We did have some noisy guests keeping us up late, though. A bit of a bummer since it's not really close to downtown, but at least the views from our room were nice.

Ideal for 1-2 nights to explore Coimbra.

comfortable stay but needs some improvements

Easy check-in process made a great first impression. The room was spacious, providing ample space for relaxation. The breakfast served was quite satisfying, with choices that kept me energized for the day. I particularly enjoyed the river view from my room.

Unfortunately, I encountered some noise from other guests during the night.

Spectacular views from the hotel over the city. Removed from the city but the city is just down the road. Parking is accessible to drive over the river to see the city. The university grounds are wonderful, the library is a must to see.
